This was part of their “The Heart, The Mind, The Soul Tour”. The band's dynamic fusion of funk, soul, and spoken word captivated the audience from the first note. Formed in 2011, the band gained national attention after winning NPR's Tiny Desk Contest in 2017, which showcased their energetic performance style and unique sound.

The group is fronted by lead vocalist Tarriona "Tank" Ball, whose background in slam poetry contributes to the band's distinctive lyrical approach. Their debut album, Think Tank, was released in 2013, followed by Green Balloon in 2019, and Red Balloon in 2022. In 2024, they released a three-part album titled The Heart, The Mind, and The Soul, exploring themes of self-discovery and personal growth.

Tank and the Bangas have been recognized with multiple Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist in 2020 and Best Spoken Word Poetry Album in 2025 for The Heart, The Mind, and The Soul.
